Staging Excellence

Centennial High School’s award-winning theatre program consists of both curricular and co-curricular activities. The courses offered are Theatre I, Advanced Theatre II,III and IV Musical Theatre, and Stagecraft. The extra curricular theatre season is jammed packed with a fall play production, a winter showcase featuring all members of the Fine Arts Department, our variety show, Fat Nite Follies, a children’s theatre production, a spring musical production, a student directed One-Act play festival, and a senior performance to round out our year. The theatre department also produces the student improvisational comedy group, Awkward.

Students get the opportunity to work both on and off the stage in various technical roles. In all of our productions, students act as stage managers, lighting designers and technicians, sound designers, set designers and constructors as well as run crew, manage costumes, props, and make-up.

Centennial Theatre Department has been a member of the International Thespian Society since 2007. Our chapter of ITS is essential in providing scenic as well as front of house and marketing support to all of our productions.
